I see global awareness as one of the threads we need to weave through the tapestry of our curriculum no matter what subject we teach.
I really appreciate what the humanities teacher said about working with the students so that they begin to develop an understanding of how the different events and decisions in history fit together. This is a very hard concept for students to grasp, the idea that history is not made up of isolated events. However, once they gain this knowledge it can be extended to analyzing current global issues and how the actions of one country impact another.
