I looked at the website that you posted. I think that global awareness days are great for students to become more involved. I think that it is important that they hear more about the day, rather than just seeing it marked on the calendar. Perhaps taking a part of class to discuss the topic and their feelings/opinions or to give them more information on the topic would be heflpul.
