"One Native spokeswoman from the Downtown Eastside, home of the country's 'poorest postal code,' told the audience to 'send a prayer to people who think it's all right to spend this kind of money while people are dying and living in poverty.' "

The olympics are a powerful and symbolic part of our world pride and culture. But so many times, people forget that the large sums of money that is spent on large attractions could be used to help others survive or for other humanitarian problems.
